A meme a day keeps the ... demons away?

A meme stolen from everythingshiny because I have blank spots on my April posting meme!

1. What's your favorite candle scent?
I don't really have ONE. And some things that smell awesome from one place smell like shit from another. I don't like powdery scents and I find Scentsy products have a powdery base to them. I usually go for Bath & Bodyworks candles, if at all.

2. What female celebrity do you wish was your sister?
Y'know, I have NO idea. There are some that I wish were my BFFs (like JLaw, TSwift or Katie Cassidy) but I don't know if I'd want to be related to any of them so closely.

3. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother?
Maybe a Hemsworth? I have no idea, honestly. As much as I want to rub my face on his beard I bet it would be pretty frigging awesome having Hoechlin as a big brother. Or younger, I guess, in this case.

4. How old do you think you'll be when you get married?
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL *insert Channing Tatum HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA email here* Probably when I'm 60 or some shit.

5. Do you know a hoarder?
My mom. I grew up in a hoarding situation.

6. Can you do a split?
I USED to be able to kind of do one. So no.

7. How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike?
6, I think? I know I held on to those training wheels for a LONG time and was pretty gutted when my Mom and Grampy made them come off. The kid equivalent of pushing the birdling out of the nest for me.

8. How many oceans have you swum in?
Two! Atlantic & Pacific.

9. How many countries (other than your homeland) have you been to?
Just one, the US. It never used to feel that big because we lived 15 minutes from a border crossing so we'd literally "run across the line" to get gas or milk when I was a kid. Now, especially flying, that shit is getting serious.

10. Is anyone in your family in the army?
My great aunt was (and I got to wear her WWII uniform for a drama camp once!), my uncles and cousin all were/are.

11. What would you name your daughter if you had one?
I... have no idea. Something spellable and pronounceable at least. We do some kid-based features and the names that I see make me facepalm so hard.

12. What would you name your son if you had one?
See above.

13. What's the worst grade you got on a test?
A test? I don't remember, really. My worst mark overall for a university course was C-.

14. What was your favorite TV show when you were a child?
Just ONE?! I grew up in front of the TV. I didn't have just ONE.

15. What did you dress up as on Halloween when you were eight?
LOLOLOLOLOL I don't know! Probably a bag lady or something, cause it was easy. Raid grampy's closet, put some eyeliner on my face for dirt and carry around a bunch of plastic bags.

16. Have you read any of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games or Twilight series?
All of them, yes.

17. Would you rather have an American accent or a British accent?
I have a Canadian accent (apparently, I get teased sometimes out here in the west because of my long A sounds and the sometimes Atlantic-Canadian twang I get) but could deal with a British one.

18. Did your mother go to college?
A little. She studied at least a year or more of nursing and took a medical transcription course.

19. Are your grandparents still married?
They were up until they died.

20. Have you ever taken karate lessons?
No.

21. Do you know who Kermit the Frog is?
Like, personally? No. I know OF him.

22. What's the first amusement park you've been to?
I went to a water park in uni.

23. What language, besides your native language, would you like to be fluent in?
Spanish for sure.

24. Do you spell the color as grey or gray?
Both. However I feel that day.

25. Is your father bald?
Maybe? He's dead.

26. Do you know triplets?
I don't believe so.

27. Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook?
Um, probably TItanic just because it's longer/plottier and I still cry at the Notebook.

28. Have you ever had Indian food?
Yes!

29. What's the name of your favorite restaurant?
I'm admitting to being totally paranoid here by not wanting to list their names because people here search the local restaurants and they're both fairly unique names (well, one is for sure) so I'll say an Indian place and a sushi/thai place.

30. Have you ever been to Olive Garden?
Nope.

31. Do you belong to any warehouse stores (Costco, BJ's, etc.)?
I'm a Costco member and LOVE their deli chickens, holy crap.

32. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender?
Eric.

33. If you have a nickname, what is it?
I don't really. My boss calls me Darren Sticknancy sometimes cause people like to get my name very, very wrong.

34. Who's your favorite person in the world?
Depends on the day. Most of the time it's my mom, I guess, but some days not so much, LOL.

35. Would you rather live in a rural area or in the suburbs?
Having lived in both, suburbs.

36. Can you whistle?
No. Thankfully.

37. Do you sleep with a nightlight?
Nope.

38. Do you eat breakfast every morning?
Usually. I have oatmeal at work but sometimes I get a bagel with my coffee from Tim's.

39. Do you take any pills or medication daily?
TAKE ALL THE PILLS. No, but seriously, I take 13-14 pills a day, depending on my pain. Some are vitamins, there's my anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds, stuff for diabetes, Lyrica, T3, codeine and an injection (not insulin).

40. What medical conditions do you have?
*Puts on Wilford Brimley mustache* I have dabeetus (diabetes), depression and a fucked up neck/back.

41. How many times have you been to the hospital?
TO the hospital? Like, in general? Cause that's a lot. But for actual hospital stays maybe three as a kid.

42. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo?
No. I tried and fell asleep.

43. Where do you buy your jeans?
I haven't bought jeans in years so I don't even know.

44. What's the last compliment you got?
Over the weekend lots of people liked the pink colour I redyed in my hair. *shrugs*

45. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning?
Rarely.

46. What flavor tea do you enjoy?
I'm a fruity tea person. Tea that doesn't taste like tea, I say. I find that tea that taste like TEA makes me drymouthed. I like sweeter teas and put sugar in mine.

47. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
Oh, god. Counting everything from sneakers and flip flops to flats and heels likely close to 40? I have four pairs alone at work!

48. What religion will you raise your children to practice?
a) Don't want kids, won't have kids.
b) Not religious/spiritual.

49. How old were you when you found out that Santa wasn't real?
7, I believe.

50. Why do you still have a journal here, considering everyone else is on Facebook?
I'm not on Facebook. I twitter a lot and it's how I keep in touch with real life people but only those I generally interact with regularly. As far as people from home or in school or whatever... I don't care. When I had a facebook I only had about 70 people friended because I HATED that people added you for the sake of adding you. If we didn't talk in school what in the hell makes you think I want to talk to you now? I'm still in touch with one person from high school (my best friend) and one person from university and that's good enough for me.

My journal is my creative space and where I can keep a daily account of what's going on with my life in greater detail. It's somewhere that I don't need someone to "Like" my post about having a panic attack or whatever. That isn't shit I would want shared on FB, anyway. There's a more intimate feel on here even though we're mostly all strangers. We're friends because we WANT to be, not because we feel an obligation due to family ties or because we were in elementary together.
