I thought this episode was far better than last week and clipped along at a nice pace. The only thing that really stuck out to me that I didn`t like very much was the colouring of this ep. Everything seemed very blue and flat. I totally prefer brightly coloured, vibrant shows. Like Community, for instance.

But aside from that I quite liked the way the episode unfolded. Cliche, for sure, but everything seems to be falling into place.

Nick is still a wooden character, very to-the-letter misunderstood bad boy who's only trying to push people away to keep from getting hurt. And just as he has a moment of real emotion he's going to eat it. I thought maybe it would be tonight with wacky mccrazypants running around, trying to avenge his dead girlfriend and all, but I guess it's not in the cards just yet.

As soon as he does get offed, though, I wonder how hard it's going to be convincing everyone to re-bond again. Faye was a bit softer in this episode, sticking up for her friend, but she's definitely not going to like going back to being bound to everyone now that she knows what's up with the whole process. Nearly killing someone or not.

I don't remember Sally that well from the books so I don't have any idea of how long she's going to stick around or how they might change her character. Right now she seems suspicious but, honestly, not that smart. I wonder if the writers are going to go the TVD route and, like, make her family witch hunters or something.

This is the first episode I've really noticed Diana, though. Like, NOTICED her. In the first ep she reminded me more of Sally than Sally is. Between her clothes and hair she just seemed like a brown-nosing bookworm. Now, with the updated hair and style, she's more in tune with how the character was written in the books. She's still a far sight from "ethereal" but she's less severe.

I'm curious to see where the story might go with her insecurity, though. Because when she talks about Adam and lets her nerves shine through about how much Adam and Cassie seem to like each other she kind of comes off less insecure and more "Type-A-I'm-gonna-gut-someone-if-they-cross-me". Maybe that's just me but it's a bit too controled and when she tries to let her guard down it comes off a little desperate. Maybe that's the aim of it and could be laying some groundwork for a potential plot with Diana going a bit off the deep end with her powers and maybe going a bit dark?

Of course, this could all just be my imagination getting away from me and some wishful thinking.

I find with the blue colouring it makes the thick makeup on the actors look very pancake-y and too flesh-toned. You can TELL it's makeup, which could also just be a problem with how hi-def the file is.

See? Gorgeous.

Hello, product placement for Windows and Bing!

See? Episode 1 Diana wouldn't have worn that dress.
