Long time, no update
Hola people. So I haven't updated this thing for a really long time. Mostly, I am just always busy. This last semester at school I was taking 20 credits, working, on the board of the Native student group at my school, co-chairing a legislative committee, voluntering, etc. Now it is summer, I am home and just working two jobs which is actually really awesome. They are both internships, one is working with a local tribal foundation, the other is conducting research about the correlation between Anishinaabe language and health in Anishinaabe communities. It's pretty cool. I was just in Winipeg working on it last week, actually. I really like Winnipeg, it kind of reminds me of Milwaukee except its not dirty and people there are nice.
So yesterday I had a corneal ulcer. It really hurt. I guess what it is is that bacteria gets imbedded into the cornea of your eye. I woke up yesterday in a great deal of pain, and unable to open my right eye. I ended up going to the doctor, they gave me some medicine and said it was good i came in when i did because when these things aren't treated they can lead to blindness, sometimes in as little as 24 hours. Good thing I got it checked out!
So because of the corneal ulcer I am not allowed to work for a few days. I was ordered to "take it easy" which, I gotta admit, is driving me nuts. I guess I'm a little bit of a workaholic. Anyway, that's whats up with me. Mostly just work and school and stuff, you know? but it's all good things, in one way or another. I feel like I am in a pretty good place right now.
