COPENHAGEN!
I went on a cruise to Copenhagen with the Boy. It was great, so romantic! I am so lucky. Ok here goes~
Monday we board the ship around 4 PM. The way the OSLO-Copenhagen cruise works is you boat over to copenhagen during the night, arrive there in the morning around 9, spend the whole day in the city, get on the boat around 4 and arrive back in Oslo the next morning. It was a beautiful big cruise ship with bars (yes plural) and restaurants, TAX FREE shopping (makes me very happy), pools and whatnot. Very nice.
OK so Tuesday morning comes around and we go the breakfast buffet. These are literally two of my favorite words. I have to say that the Nordic idea of breakfast is a little messed up (they eat a lot of meat and sandwiches...I would choose waffles over that any day). We went into Copenhagen and spent the cold snowy day walking around, taking pictures and generally just being annoying tourists. I had a wonderful cup of coffee in this really nice cafe on the main pedestrian shopping street. We went into an English pub and I had a smoke and a pint. Lovely. I managed to spend very little money while there. I saw a man in the street chugging a beer and then promptly doubling over and puking pinkish chunks. I also witnessed this man with apparently a Texan accent that was drinking in the English pub. He had the longest man hair I have ever seen. Literally down to his butt. And he had bangs. It was truly terrible.
Ricardo treated me to a very nice dinner on board the boat on the way back. We went to one of the night clubs and I bought myself a Pina Colada :) We danced! I mean real dancing where the guy holds your hand and your other hand is on his shoulder. We were surrounded by couples all over 60 years old. I got hit on by a middle-aged norwegian businessman with bad english. THERE WAS A SHOWBOATIN' CANADIAN! Crazy. They had a funny live band playing that did all these cheesy covers of songs like 'Only you', 'Crazy', 'Mambo 5'. Fantastic. Europe is amazing.
My dad should be coming here on Saturday and we are going to travel around Norway a little more. I will be posting more pics on my other website. Ok that's all for now loves.
