Title: Magic
Pairings: Mark & Sabrina
Rating: PG
Summary: Just another one shot. I was looking over YouTube vids and came across one of my favorites. Sabrina seems to have a habit of making funny videos. Marie got the credit for this one, but I think Sabrina had a big part in its creation. At least she does when I tell the story. :o)
Disclaimer: I own no one.
Sabrina was in makeup and Mark and the other pros were practicing their group dance. She had taken a little peek and it looked phenomenal. The girls were twirling around and the guys were lifting them in the air. She hoped she got far enough in the competition to be able to dance with lifts. She was looking forward to it. She was still in her elated state from bringing in a perfect score last week and finding out it was the earliest anyone had gotten a perfect score in the shows history. So here she was, on top of the world and having set two records since this little adventure started. It helped that she had an amazing partner who knew how to choreograph the best dances. She would rise to the occasion of dancing anything he could throw her way. It didn’t hurt that he was gorgeous and flirting with her constantly. He also couldn’t seem to keep his hands to himself. They hadn’t talked about what was going on, concentrating on the show and the performances was first priority. It didn’t mean she didn’t daydream about what it would be like to kiss him, date him and be his girlfriend. She could dream.
Sabrina was done with makeup and leaving the trailer when an idea hit her like a brick. She was famous for filming silly little set up scenes with the Cheetahs. She ran into Mel B. and was grinning from ear to ear, making Mel suspicious. “What’s all the grinning for Sabrina? Did you and Mark finally kiss?”
“Uh, no! Why do you always have to go there? It’s not like that with him, so shut it!” She playfully shoved her, the grin never leaving her face. “I have a great little idea of how we can spend all of this downtime today!”
“Well, by all means love, let me hear it.”
“Well, I was just thinking that all of the girls left in this competition have dolls of ourselves.”
“So…”
“Well, let’s have some fun and make some use out of them. We can get Cameron to help us too. I think it would be silly, but fun! We can post it on YouTube!”
“You and your vids you post. You are crazy. I’m in.” She grinned.
“Great! I’ll get the dolls together and talk to Cameron and you go get the girls. Bring them to Cameron’s trailer.”
“Got it love.” Mel headed off to tell the girls and Sabrina made her way to his trailer, knocking on his door.
She peaked her head in the door. “Cameron? Are you in here?”
“Yep, come on in Bri.” He was sitting on his couch reading a DWTS magazine. She got an idea and had to laugh.
“Let me run something by you. We are all bored stiff with our partners off practicing. I came up with something to pass the time. I thought we could make a little vid for YouTube. It involves Marie, Jane, Mel and Jennie, oh…and you and I!”
“Tell me what you have in mind. I’m all up for something to do to keep my mind off of this dance tonight!”
“Well, all the girls have their own doll. I thought we could play out a silly scene with the dolls and there would be a surprise piece with you at the end, if you are up for it!”
“What kind of surprise piece are we talking about?”
“Well, we’d all do the scene and we’d be insulting each other and hitting and fighting. It’ll be funny, trust me. At the end, you’ll hear a knock on the door and it will look like you were playing with the dolls. You’ll try to hide them, but two dolls will be sticking out from under the couch cushion and the girls who knocked on your door will see them. They’ll think you’re weird, BUT they won’t tell the others. They can all munch on some celery and head off. Since we all seem to be hungry all the time, we can call it Dancing With The Starved. So…what do you think?”
“It sounds fun! Let’s do it!”
Sabrina talks to everyone and they all think it would be fun. There is no script, no lines, no right and no wrong, just fun. They rehearse a few times. Right before filming it, there’s a knock on Cameron’s door and when Marie opens it; Mark is standing there…tapping his watch. “Is she here?”
“Oh Sabrina…your boyfriend needs you. He needs his Sabribri fix!” Everyone laughs except for Mark and Sabrina. Marie attempts to calm the group down after Mel’s comment and keep them from embarrassing the two. Sabrina turns giving Mel a dirty look and then holds up her hand as if to say, “I’ll be back in a second.” She steps outside with Mark.
“Did you need me right now?” He grinned at her question, if she only knew.
“I’d like to practice with you before we get dressed in costumes. I thought we had this planned,” he took her small hands in his and rubbed his thumb across the top of her hands. His voice didn’t hold any irritation.
They were interrupted by the door swinging open and the girls spilling out of Cameron’s trailer. Sabrina quickly took her hands away and asked, “where are you all going?”
“Oh, all of our partners called and are demanding we all get back to work. Slave drivers. We decided to do this after we all get camera blocking done. Can you sneak away from your warden?” Jennie smiled and looked at Mark. He didn’t look amused, but Sabrina elbowed him lightly and he smiled anyway.
“Sure. I’ll meet everyone back here later.”
Mark puts his hand on her back and lightly pushes her in the direction of the rehearsal studio. After they are out of sight, his arm wraps around her waist and pulled her just a little closer. “Ready to work on our passion?”
“What?” The question had thrown Sabrina. What was he saying? Then it clicked and she blushed and felt ridiculous for thinking he was insinuating anything.
He laughed and tightened his grip. “I did mean for the Rhumba, but if you would like to work on passion for us, that’s fine with me.”
Why did he always say those silly things? He always made her blush, not like it was difficult, but after getting tips from his mom, she was already on edge about this dance. “Aren’t you cute?” She shot the sarcastic remark at him but he turned it around as usual.
“See, you already think I’m cute! I’m already winning here!”
“Are we going to work or not?” She went into all business mode, her defense mechanism that he despised. He had gone too far and now she was shutting him out. He needed to fix this or this Rhumba would suffer and he would go crazy.
“I’m sorry Sabrina. I was trying to be funny, and you obviously don’t find me amusing. I’ll behave and you stop being all business like, okay?”
“Fine.” Not the answer he wanted, but then he saw her pout and knew she was faking being hurt or mad. He would never understand how that bottom lip of hers could get her out of so much trouble. After all, he had willingly apologized to her and that wasn’t something he did often.
They began practicing and things felt so intimate for both of them. When Mark stopped them after one of their sexier poses, she let out her breath that she had been holding. “What’s wrong?” He could see there was something not right, it was all over her face.
“I feel like I’m doing something and trying not to get caught!”
“What?”
“I feel like a teenager making out with my boyfriend while knowing my parents will be home any minute and walk in on us. I know…it’s silly.” She had seen his eye roll. “I’m sorry Mark. It just feels, well…almost dirty.”
“Sabrina. We have to get you over this. What can I do?”
“I don’t know Mark. I’m sorry; I just feel like I’m waiting on that first kiss with this dance and it’s making me a nervous wreck.” She hung her head, embarrassed.
“Okay,” he said with confidence, “I can fix this. Let’s start from the beginning and just try your hardest to give me sultry and sexy and let’s get all the way through it.” She nodded in agreement. They started the dance and he could tell she was still nervous. He made it through the dance trying to pull everything he could out of her. He suddenly changed the ending by burying his face into her cleavage. He lightly kissed the top of one breast. Her breath caught and he brought his head up and pressed his forehead to hers. They stayed that way for a minute and then, he did what he’d wanted to do for a long while. As he moved towards her, she thought he was going to kiss the tip of her nose, but he didn’t. His lips landed ever so softly on hers. When she didn’t pull away, he kissed her a little more. She found herself kissing him back. He lightly ran his tongue over her bottom lip and her mouth opened slightly. He playfully bit at her lip causing a moan to escape her. He then, carefully searched her mouth, tasting her for the first time. His hands were in her long blonde hair and she was kissing him back with such passion. He was in heaven. When the kiss ended, she stayed with her eyes closed a little longer and then a faint smile crossed those beautiful lips he had just kissed.
“What was that for,” she whispered.
“I wanted to give you that first kiss to get you over your nerves.” He smiled. “And…I’ve wanted to do that for a while now.”
“Can we try that again?”
He goes to start the music and she follows, stopping the music before it started. “I didn’t mean the dance.” She smiled innocently.
“If I must,” he grinned. He pulled her to him, still so gentle with her as if she might break. He looked into her eyes and leaned in until his lips were touching hers. He was taken aback at how aggressive she was this time. He smiled beneath the kiss, knowing now that she had wanted this as much as he had. They spend a few more minutes kissing and she pulls away breathless. “Do you think you can dance sexy and sultry now?”
She smiled her answer and he reluctantly walked away to turn on the music. He took his place with her again and they ran through the routine. This time was totally different. He couldn’t wait to dance with her tonight, although he thought the show might have to change its ratings.
The rest of their day had changed just in those few minutes alone. Their passion seemed to show and she didn’t want that. He didn’t care, but she wanted this to be about dancing and not romance. She didn’t want the others constantly remarking on a relationship or crush either. They were about to leave the studio after a few more run-throughs and he pulled her to him for another long lingering kiss. As he deepened their kiss, the door swung open. They both looked up and froze, not even having enough time to move away from each other. Derek stood there smiling from ear to ear. Mark made a snap decision. He pulled Sabrina close to him instead of letting her move away embarrassed. “Derek, I’m speaking for us both when I ask you to keep this to yourself. Please?”
“When did this happen?” Derek was still smiling.
“Uh…” Sabrina couldn’t seem to form a response. Mark stepped in to rescue her.
“This just sorta happened today really. Please, we don’t even know what this is….please don’t say anything.”
“Stop pleading. I won’t say anything, but I’ll warn you…if any of the cast sees what I just saw, there will be no stopping the rumors. I’ll help you out in whatever ways you need bro…you know that. Sabrina, I promise you too…I won’t be that annoying person Mark makes me out to be. I can keep secrets and I’m pretty good at cover ups…you know, just in case you need one here and there.”
Sabrina let her breath out, not even realizing she was holding it in. She smiled. “Thank you. This means a lot to me…well…us.” Her smile became shy and cautious. She was blushing and Derek took that as his cue to leave.
“Don’t worry guys, but just don’t let anyone see you.” They both thank him and watch as he walks out. Mark takes Sabrina’s hand and leads her to the door. He stands in front of it and pulls her to him.
“There are ways to keep people out.” The last thing she saw was his grin coming towards her. His kiss was soft and sweet and all telling. There would be many more kisses to come.
They decide to act the same as before the kiss, since it would be obvious that something was wrong if they avoided each other. He walked with his hand on the small of her back, just like they had walked to the rehearsal studio. He guided her to the costume trailer and left her to get his costume on with a simple, “see you in a bit.” She was grinning like a fool and she hoped no one would notice. Mel came around the corner and nearly fell in the floor with a fit of laughter. “What,” Sabrina whined.
“What is that grin about? Did you kiss him yet?”
“What? What exactly is wrong with you that you constantly ask me that question?” Sabrina stormed off to hide her face. After getting dressed in her sexy Rhumba outfit, she meets Mark outside. He can’t help but look her up and down.
“Great dress.” It was all he could manage to get out.
“Thanks.” He returned his hand to the small of her back and walked her to their camera blocking. They were the last ones scheduled for today. They rehearse with the cameras and as they are leaving, Ted, one of the men filming, gave Mark a wink. Mark grinned, but kept walking. Once they got outside, they were surrounded.
“Come on Sabrina. We’re burning daylight, let’s go!” Jennie looped her arm through hers and dragged her away from Mark’s grasp. Mark followed to see where she was going.
Derek and Mark sat and watched as their dance partners acted like children playing with their dolls, literally. Eventually Maks and Jonathon joined them, all sitting back and laughing. When it came time to actually film the girls faces, Sabrina was nowhere to be found. Mark was about to look for her, but Derek put his hand on his friends shoulder and winked. Mark had missed them tell Sabrina to skip in and say her line, but he knew Mark would find it humorous. Derek pointed as Sabrina skipped through the trailers. She has her piece of celery. “Hey girls, wait for me. I got a perfect ten!” She skipped off after them and when he knew they were done filming, he snickered. She was so cute. He went to get her and she was grinning from ear to ear. “That was so much fun.”
“I’m glad you had fun. We still need to get you to hair. In case I forgot to tell you, you looked amazing during camera blocking. You were amazing…You are amazing.”
“Do you think we should practice some more?” She was grinning and he knew why she was asking.
“No, but you are coming with me to my trailer.”
“Mark?”
“Don’t worry, Derek is walking with us. He’s my cover guy.”
“Are you sure we can tru…”
He smiled as he cut her off, “he can be trusted…and so can I you know!” She blushed and he reached for her hand and lightly brushed it. Derek met them, smiled and started chatting to Mark like always. Sabrina was amazed. Derek had always been sweet, but goofy and he loved to embarrass Mark. She grew anxious. She thought that this could only mean one thing! Mark was serious about her and didn’t want people messing around with what could be. She relaxed and smiled at the thought. They reached the trailer. Derek came in with them and a few minutes later walked out.
Mark turned to her and smiled again, that same smile that could take her breath away. He brought her in close and kissed her and she knew they would be so much more than friends no matter how this competition ended. She already had her prize, she was looking at him.
