Poker Night

Tonight, Jason is taking John and I to poker night with his co-workers in Lowell. A few hours of friendly Texas Hold'em is forthcoming.

Ever since our building lost power last night, Dewey (my desktop PC) seems incapable of acquiring an IP address, so I can't use the internet except from my laptop. A minor inconvenience, but it gives me an excuse to adapt to linux as my primary OS.

Today I configured Lappy to work with my network printer. I can't seem to get Pidgin to work with any of the sound architectures, although everything else seems to do just fine with sound. Beyond that, my only complaints with this computer are its lack of wireless, its lack of a battery, and its outdated processor.

Tonight I made fajitas for dinner; they seemed to go over pretty well. I used a McCormick fajita seasoning packet; next time I need to try without the pre-mixed seasonings. My guacamole was foiled twice by bad avacados. The first two were rotten by the time I cut them open. The second two were too green and tasted off. So I caved and bought some pre-mixed guacamole.

Now it's off to the grocery to buy snacks for poker night, and then off to Lowell.
