i had a baby!

i did my first solo birth (without a mentor) as a doula on thursday! i was on call for this family and they called me early in the morning (3:42 am) to say they were on the way to the hospital, and could i come over in an hour or two? i arrived a little after 5 am, the baby was born by 3, and i left a little after 4 pm. it was a long day, but AWESOME and exhilarating!

i may be having another today, but it depends on whether any babies want to be born today.
