Could today be better?
No I don't think so! I am blessed to have an 11 year old step daughter. She is the love of my life. She brings me more joy then words can discribe. She called me on Thursday, just to be sure that we could still go shopping together, cause quote, "i'm fun!" Did you hear that, i am a step mom who's step daughter thinks is fun!
We went shopping, and then to the marina. All day yesterday we spent on the boat, and then docked for a camp fire. We had cabbobs, and steak, and smores (smores with peanut butter cups on cookies. Again i am the cool parent.
Our family has a tradition, every Sunday we go out to breakfast together. The girl child picked Friendly's (which i hate) but she loves. We had breakfast, ice cream, and then came home. I cut her hair for back to school, and put a few highlights in! Its kinda a bit deal for a girl to get her hair colored for the frist time. We just had the best afternoon, listening to what ever music she wanted to listen to, and just taking time to enjoy being 11!
I know the days that are this peaceful may be few and far between shortly, but I wouldn't have changed today or this weekend for anything.
