Besides all the cleaning I've been doing, I've been piecing my son's quilt. The top is officially over halfway pieced. I hope to get the rest of the top, before borders, pieced tomorrow except my daughter came home from school sick today. Hopefully I'll be able to get it sandwiched for quilting this weekend.
Today, I made a wrist pincushion from
a tutorial at The Long Thread.
I love it! I made it from a small part, 14 x 5 inches, of a fat quarter that my husband bought me a long time ago as part of a gift. The band was a bit long so I placed my velcro where it would fit me snuggly after I stuffed it. The stuffing really took up a lot of the length. I stuffed it tight and really full because I was paranoid about poking myself. I stuffed it first with some very fluffy batting and then some batting scraps to protect my wrist. The fluffy batting lets the pins in easily then they slow down when they hit the batting so it worked out perfect.
