MoCCA Artfest is coming up---here's where I'll be, what I'll have, and why it's so worth it to come by!
The Comics Bakery!
A collective of four unique and impressive artists, The Comics Bakery is your place for cool comics, T-Shirts, Doujinshi, stickers and buttons. Come to see the work of Raina Telgemeier, Dave Roman, John Green and Marion Vitus- if you're in publishing you might want to see some of our projects!
Come for the art, stay for the scones. :) I'll have some orange and chocolate-chip ones this year.
I will personally have some fabulous Scottie Dog T-Shirts for sale. They are adorable and go with everything: plaid, scones, comics, dogs, people.
No In-Between!
I'll have both Austria issues, and the issue leading into Germany. These issues will be in one large collection called No In-Between: Austria and go very nicely with No In-Between: Italy, if you don't have the first six issues already! For those of you on the fence about buying what you can read online, consider this: buying the issues gets you the story faster! Buy the collection now for $3, or suffer slowly for the next 5 weeks while each page comes out on Mondays. Don't suffer slowly---this isn't the kind that leads to character development or enlightenment. This kind of suffering just hurts. ;)
The Lulu Awards! Remember, the 2008 Lulu Awards is being held at MoCCA this year on Saturday, June 7 at 8:30 p.m. See the beautiful invite made by Hope Larson?
Members of Friends of Lulu, and members of MoCCA get in free! All others can purchase tickets ahead of time on the Friends of Lulu website, though a few will be available at the door- a mere $8. The awards recognize the work of women in comics- see the nominees here!
And don't you all worry about giving up an evening for it- the Lulu Awards will end at 10:00 p.m., leaving you comic jet-setters plenty of evening to make memories in the Big Apple. :)
Since this is my personal blog- I will mention that I have done a lot of work for this year's Lulu Awards. I have really worked hard to bring this about and it would mean so much to me to see the place packed with people.
Rabid Rabbit!
Rabid Rabbit 8 (The White Album) releases at MoCCA Artfest, look for the Rabid Rabbits at their usual table. I have 2 pages in this phenomenal book. DO NOT MISS IT- get it for the center spread if nothing else.
