[Good grief, what is that thing at the end of the branch there? It's huge and flapping awkwardly through the air, not to mention shedding something shiny all over the flower-strewn ground. Plus, it's slow, and -- oh wait, it's only Rizelle. Her reddish moth wings are a size proportional to her huge body size, which might explain Rizelle's mixed ( Read more... )

[Gokudera isn't sure if that's amazing or terrifying... So he just watches in a mixture of both.]

[Oh, Rizelle sees him there all right.]

Don't you say a word.

No. Just wondering.

We don't have things like you in my world.

[He grimaces. That came out wrong. He doesn't try to correct himself, though.]

[Thankfully, that's not the first time Rizelle's heard something similar, though she'll never quite get used to hearing it. From where she is on the ground, Rizelle looks up at Gokudera.]

I understand. Most people haven't.

[He looks down at her, then drops down to join her. He doesn't use his wings until the last minute, to break his fall. He still doesn't really trust them to hold his weight. orz]

I read a lot about mythical and supernatural creatures. So...it's interesting.

[He scratches the back of his head. It's not so much awkward to admit this as it is awkward to admit it to someone who's caught his interest for that reason.]

Oh? Was there anything in those books about something like me, then?

There's an urban legend in Japan about a spider-woman who abducts people.

[At this, Rizelle begins to laugh loudly. In fact, she's laughing so hard that she has to wrap all six of her arms around herself, as if trying to stop all of the laughter pouring forth. She's even started to cry because of the uncanniness of Gokudera's description. It was all too much of a coincidence for her.]

[She calms down after a while, though her shoulders are still shaking with chuckles.] Really? That actually describe me, except I only tried to kidnap one person.

[He's surprised by the reaction, but also interested in the parallel when she mentions it.]

Seriously? Who? And why?

[Rizelle's stopped laughing, but the episode still lingers as a smile on her face.] Well...

[She thinks of the best way to explain it to him.] Imagine if...your boss asked you to kidnap the sister of one of your companions to bring her back to him. But, she's a part of an opposing organization that's bent on your family's complete destruction. It's a little more complicated than that, though. Would you like the full version?

[It's not that hard for him to imagine, all things considered. But he nods.]

Yeah. If you're okay telling it.

[When she'd first arrived at the mansion, Rizelle would have never imagined that she'd ever get so comfortable with this story to tell others, especially considering its ending. But three years could do a lot to a demon. And since it didn't look like Gokudera was in a great hurry, Rizelle decided to tell the story in its entirety ( ... )
