My apologies to those that still read this that I've gone so long without an update. With life moving so fast any more, it's nice to actually sit down, take the time, gather my thoughts, and go to work talking about what's going on right now.
So, it's been a little more than year since I got my current role as an MiB Agent / Attraction Attendant at Universal Studios Florida. Though February 29th, Leap Day, was my hire date, I think most folks just acknowledge it as March 1st. I was supposed to get a little Woody Woodpecker 1-year pin to mark the occasion, just like the Steamboat Willie pin when I worked at Disney. I was supposed to get two paid holidays and I started my anniversary week with a payraise ($8.04 an hour, up from $7.85 an hour). My first annual performance review classified me as "highly valued" and just a few merit tenths-of-points away from being noted as "top talent" (I scored a 1.10...1.33 and above would have given me the "top talent" distinction).
Something went wrong along the way. I didn't get my pin because of...some odd thing happening with HR (was supposed to actually go to a ceremony for it...never got scheduled for one!). I also did not receive my personal holidays and I've also stopped accumulating Paid Time Off for some odd reason. It's like it couldn't process me as an employee and suddenly, it's treating me as if I'm still on the schedule, but simply do not exist. It's rather odd, and something I'm going to be speaking with Benefits about. Hopefully I can get all that back-PTO they've been keeping from me.
Whatever the case, my application to transfer to attempt to become a part of the Transformers opening team is in, and I'm hoping to hear from them in the next couple of weeks or so. If not, I'll just continue to muddle my way through the ranks of the MiB. No biggie.
