Quite probably the single best and most important New York Times article of the month:

Jan 23, 2008 19:51

I thoroughly approve of this headline:

At Last, a $20,000 cup of coffee. Please, please do not distract me with your petty complaints about how this typifies once again just how out of touch The New York Times is with the rest of the country. (But although I'm not inclined to give any of the media, and especially The New York Times, a break this week, they are covering the Heath Ledger story too, so they're following some of your interests and moods.) Just focus on the wonder they are showing us:

A $20,000 cup of coffee. Single origin. Micro-lot. And who knew that posture and bamboo paddles could play such a critical role in the coffee creation process?

Add this machine to my growing number of reasons to need to win the lottery, although I must confess that my ability to swirl bamboo paddles in hot liquids before I've had the chance to inhibe caffeine can certainly be questioned.
