Actually, help my mother:
For some reason, my mother's browsers, both Internet Explorer and Firefox, are completely refusing to install Macromedia Player Flash 8, or only installing part of it. Firefox is having video problems and not playing sounds for Flash movies, and Explorer is sulking and saying that the Abode Flash Player has to be upgraded, even when it has been, and asking on every page using the Flash Player, "Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX controls and plug-ins to run?" even though I disabled that prompt in the options under Explorer Tools.
I headed to Adobe's page and followed their instructions for resetting the security settings, then reinstalled the upgrade, but that didn't seem to help. She's running Windows XP. Any thoughts?
Note: I may not be able to get back on her computer for awhile, but she does read this journal and she can read the comments, so feel free to direct instructions her way.
Thanks!
