Bits of randomness for a Thursday

1. Happy Pi Day! I myself plan to celebrate by having a homemade beef and bacon pie, followed by considerably less homemade cherry pie. This, of course, requires that I purchase bacon. Oh, the pain. It's a good sort of holiday to celebrate.

2. Over at Tor.com, the Georgette Heyer reread continues with Penhallow. Wow. I remembered this book as

I had seen the "paper" vid and I can hear her say "watch this" in her own voice LOL
Once-so much potential, so badly written. Some days I only tune in for Rumple and the costumes.

I am currently absorbing, through the standard digestive means, half of a Pi. In this case, a round flat dough with light cheese, extra sauce, bacon, and mushrooms.

I've done my part for Mathematics and Country.

(By the way, higher mathematics has compelled me to exist once again, though perhaps not indefinitely.)

The ending of the last episode (which I will try to specify without spoiling by mentioning that it involves a certain cursed candle) reminded me of nothing more than the line in Spaceballs where Dark Helmet says something like, "And this is why evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb."
