It has come to my attention tonight, after much restlessness about myself and my goals, that the next topic to be discussed in this course on creativity should be the fine art of dreaming. Not the kind of dreaming you do in your sleep, although that too is important, and we shall discuss it later. No, the kind of dreaming I am referring to is the kind some parents, teachers, and sometime even good friends (who no doubt mean well) discourage. The kind where all your hopes for the future are a reality - the kind that you feel at the very marrow of your being to be a truth far greater than anything you have ever felt.
Some of you may not know what I am talking about. I have discovered over the years a breed of people that either cannot or have never learned how to dream. These unfortunate people I have a pity for greater than any others in the world, because any time this Earth has seen any sort of progress, whether it be social, economical, artistic or otherwise, it has always been sparked from a dream.

Far be it, my dream, from that of the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it may be, but my dream is that all people of the world should dream. Sometimes, when I got into work, the menial - disgusting - job that I have, there is a wailing inside my head for those co-workers of mine who live day to day without dreams. They can see no further than the next week's paycheck or their next day off. Sadly, I too fall pray to this dreamless slumber often while among them. Tonight, I was in tears, for I thought my own dreams would never come to me. This is why I write this lesson for you. To encourage you all to dream.
