(no subject)
I've realized it's been a long time since I wrote in here. As per usual when that happens, life is moving fast and time for reflection gets saved for walks, airplane rides, and other general times when staring off into the scenery seems appropriate. Things are pretty great though, I'm really starting to get the hang of both the musical and industry ends of this whole DJing thing. I finally have a really nice hardware setup and can bring acts in from out of town who wouldn't be coming otherwise, two items I've been working on as of late. I'm also starting to work internationally with musicians that I've been crapping my figurative pants over for the last year or so, which is certainly a bit of an ego boost but also kinda, "Well fuck, I'm here, time to get busy!"
Design things are going well, too. A project I've been slaving over on and off since December is launching very very soon, and with the DJ stuff starting to take off I've decided to cool it a little on the professional design gigs to make more time and energy for working on stuff I really care about. Which is so exciting because I feel so much more capable of organizing and seeing projects to fruition since I was last engrossed in community projects.
I'm low on sleep from getting up at 7am (after falling asleep at 5) and a short nap, with a big group bike ride and setting up equipment for a show I'm booking for YACHT at the IU building all the sculpture studios are in. Pieces = falling into place. The weather's pristine. Hope I get time for another nap.
