I swear this is the last post from me for today - honest! LOL!
As already
promised, here's my list of favourite ship moments in OOTP, no particular order.
If you are an OBHWF-er, feel free to squee with me! :)
Harry/Ginny:
1. The greeting at 12 GM - it's pretty sad that I get excited just by hearing Movie!Harry say Ginny's name, but there you have it. *g* And did you notice how Ginny's look lingered on Harry after he turned away? And I just loved the small smiles they shared - God, we've been given so little in the movies so far that it's enough to have them just *look* at each other and my heart goes all crazy. And I like how Ginny looked particularly lovely in that scene.
2. The scene on the bridge - Bonnie just nailed it there, with her little "blink and miss a step" and fallen/upset face after hearing that bit about Cho. It reminded me a lot of that little instance in GOF where she finds out about Harry asking Cho to the ball and "suddenly stopped smiling". That was the scene that made me a H/G-er. :)
3. The DA scenes: I loved the "Fantastic, Ginny!" line, but what I loved more was the look Harry shoots her after she pulverizes the DE dummy. LOL! Yep, you better not get her angry at you, Harry! And it was quite an extended reaction shot, too.
4. The Pre-Kiss Look of Jealousy - loved it! A big HA! to whoever said Bonnie couldn't act. That look and expression alone was enough to show how jealous and distraught she was over the H/C, and it was just a few secs (they could have kept the camera on her face a bit longer...). Plus, it made the audience go all "awwwww", which is always good - more sympathy for Ginny = more moviegoers rooting for H/G in HBP.
5. The DOM: and he WAS holding her hand after they bumped into each other, if only for a milisecond! I guess that's still from the original script where they DO hold hands, even help each other along (and where they are alone for a bit - hehe). But just the fact that they bumped into each other, and OMG, how cool did Ginny look when she blasted the shelves and did you notice Harry's look?
6. The way Ginny's gaze was just *stuck* to Harry during the final scene, her face almost glowing with admiration.
7. When Harry approached Ron, Hermione and Ginny on the table to make up with them ("mind if I join you?") - I just loved how Ginny was naturally a part of that scene, as if he cared about her approval as well.
Ron/Hermione:
1. 12 GP: them being a united front of concern against Harry's wrath. They had such a nice couple dynamic going on from the beginning already, though they seemed a bit subdued at first.
2. 12 GP Christmas: Hermione's lovely small smile at Ron when he received his jumper (again!) and the little scene afterwards, as they were walking down the stairs - loved it!
3. Ron playing the knight in dented armour (well Hello there, movie 1 Ron!) as he tries to rescue Hermione from Grawp, and his jealous scowl after Grawp hands her the bell
4. The DA scene where Hermione hands Ron his you-know-whats on a silver platter - in previous movies, that would have been a cringeworthy scene, but not in this one. In this one, they were already close, and a scene like this didn't detract from their friendship and the care they have for each other. In previous movies, Emma would have had that snotty "I'm better than you!" scowl on her face while Ron would have looked like a doofus - not in this one.
5. "Well yes, but you have the emotional range of a teaspoon!" Loved it, how close they were sitting together, how they once again looked like a unified front. (like a parent unit trying to give advice to Harry *g*)
6. My favourite moment, however, was the scene after Harry's detention, as they walk into the common room - whoa, Nelly! The chemistry was jumping off the screen there. And it was all so tender and playful, and Hermione's gaze kept lingering on Ron after they sat down beside Harry. Loved it. Absolutely LOVED it!
Neville/Luna:
Yes, I know Jo sunk that ship pretty early on, but they have been my favourite fanon-ship from the beginning - their meeting in the book was just too perfect, and their little scene in the DOM was just so lovely, so yeah, I'll squee about that as well. ;)
I'll keep my fingers crossed that Kloves doesn't destroy all the progress made in this movie when he writes HBP. But then, we'll still have Yates, so there is hope. :)
