Also, I haven't had much time to read LJ lately (or to participate anywhere else in the fandom, for that matter), but I DID notice the recent fallout over sexism in the HP fandom (this is SOOOOOO beyond mere Ginny-hate now - it's about life-attitude), and I just wanted to say a big, fat "THANK YOU!" and kudos to

sandyclaws68 (truer words have never been posted in a subject line) and
peachespig for their wonderful, fervent, inspiring and eloquent posts on the subject. It's nice to know that sanity and common sense is still prevalent in the HP fandom - though I'm shocked to see there are still females defending, even praising this specific sort of sexist, out-dated, closed-minded attitude - apparently it's ok to forget the last 50 years of the female rights momvement and the fight for equality if it's in the name of ship wars...
Oh, and while I'm on a roll, I also wanted to pimp the following:
cambryn has declared this week Ginny Appreciation Week (a very nice idea, in view of the recent "discussions"), so GO - post links to essays (old and new), write/post fics, pics, art, etc. and just - as
cambryn so nicely put it - PUMP OUT THE LOVE!!!! :)
