Corcodel

Two nights ago, my visiting MIL gave Corcodel a corn cob to chew on. He ate the whole thing and now we suspect he has an intestinal blockage, which is not surprising since he is only 17 lbs soaking wet. He woke up around 3 a.m. the morning after and threw up. Later, he passed some stuff that he had before the corn cob. There was nothing there that ( Read more... )

Ok. He is coming home today! He is to be watched today and overnight so that he doesn't throw up. He also needs to poop, which, apparently he has not done yet today. If he throws up, or if he doesn't poop, we are to call the doc in the morning.

I'm going to pick him up at 3:00 p.m. Let's hope everything stays down and comes out the right end.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. Man oh man. Your MIL must feel awful, I'm guessing. Not that it was her fault.

Your baby will be so happy to be home!

She feels very guilty. I try to make her feel better but she's cried about it a couple of times and kissed him when he came back. I've never seen her kiss a dog, not even her own, so I can imagine how bad she feels.

I'm so very happy to have him back. If all goes well tomorrow, the doc says we should be out of the woods by tomorrow night. It was very... very... very scarry.

Happy. Though not as active as usual. He is on restricted food intake, so I'm sure that's not helping. He's been getting a lot of kisses and a ton of petting and massages. :o) We're monitoring his intake and output of food for the next 24 hours. I'm just thrilled he's here.
