Rant... Sigh...

I'm starting to sweat the final on one of the courses I am taking and I'm only in my third week of classes. It is a required course in the history of psychology. I find that when it comes to remembering lots of names that it helps to make a master list in point form with some key words, keeping it to 1-3 lines max per philosopher, and reviewing the list periodically throughout the term (i.e. as you move on to new material). You come to associate the names with the key words and they'll help trigger the rest come test time.
