Brief comic book thoughts
Captain Marvel was everything I'd hoped it would be. Still not crazy about the cover art, but the interior art is much better, and I loved Carol's characterization throughout. Her banter with Steve. Her smarts and toughness. Her strong friendships with other women. And the was issue was just... fun, you know? In fact, now that I think of it, this and Daredevil are the only books I'm following right now where the writers seem to be having any kind of fun or joy over the fact that they're writing a superhero story. No wonder they're my favorites.
And speaking of Daredevil, Iron Man was more heroic, competent and generally awesome in his three-page cameo here than he'd been in the entire multi-year run of his own current book. That's just sad.
