Double standards, I has them
I've been looking at my card, trying to see if I can turn any of the prompts into Nikita fic, because there appears to be a critical shortage of Nikita fic in the universe. Unfortunately, I doesn't seem to be working. I think the problem is that what I want from tough, stoic men in fic is totally not what I want from tough, stoic women in fic. Like, if Dean Winchester is lost in the wilderness with a broken leg, I want him to suffer prettily until Sam rescues him and cuddles him all better. But if Nikita is lost in the wilderness with a broken leg, I want her to make her way out of the wilderness, find the asshole who broke her leg, and rip his fucking head off. Which could actually be a pretty great story, but totally useless for h/c purposes.
Maybe I'll offer Nikita for Yuletide this year. Yuletide prompts are usually pretty inspiring for me.
