The US Post Office was very good to me the last couple of day, bringing me nice things. First came my copy of
Some of us really do watch for the plot, which looks great (love the cover design!) and is chock full of great SPN essays to keep me amused. Then came the package from the rockin' and fabulous
romanticalgirl who not only sent me my very own Admiral Norrington action figure (with tricorn and pistol!), but also a cute little index card case full of cute little things: stickers and mini-highlighters and a funky key chain and some colorful little pens.
I GOT SPARKLY PENS FROM FANDOM! I'M OFFICIALLY A BNF!!! *reclines and waits for minions to peel me some grapes*
My first official act as a BNF will be to blow a deadline. I've finally faced the fact that even if I drop out of grad school, break up with The Boy and give up sleep for the next two weeks, I still won't finish my
reel_spn story by August 22nd. My current hope is to finish it sometime in early September, while people still actually remember that the challenge existed. Otherwise you'll all be scratching your heads and wondering "Why the hell did she rewrite Ghostrider as an SPN story? Is she nuts or something?" And to think that just a few weeks ago I was telling
yahtzee63 that I expected the story to run to 10K words or so. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha. I'm at 9000 words, and have only just started Chapter 3. Out of six.
Tara the witchy black kitty is adapting well to he surroundings. This morning she found one of the plastic pull tabs from an orange juice carton, decided that it was the world's best cat toy and valiantly hunted it all over the living room. Now if she could just realize that BJ is a great big wuss whose hissing never actually translates into action, we'll be all set.
Wow. This was a really lazy weekend. I like it when I have one of those.
