Both here (upstairs) and at my parents' (downstairs).
Today, at long last, the Disability Commission came over to check on Dad, they were very polite, Mom says (it was almost a year to the day after we sent in the disability request, that's the average waiting time, I'm told).
We don't know yet, but I don't see how they could deny 100% disability to someone bed-bound and diagnosed with advanced Parkinson, dementia and prostate cancer .
Tomorrow morning we (upstairs) have the home visit of the adoption team, the visit is the last step of our study,
Later on we'll meet again to read their evaluation before they send it in to the Tribunal, at which point we'll be called by one of the honorary judges (always a psychologist) for an interview, and, if all goes well, will be granted our license to adopt.
We both are quite relieved, while neither inquisitorial nor judgemental our sessions with both the social worker and the psychologist were really intense and left us drained, also they had told us beforehand that if some serious problem came up they'll stop the study before the visit, so that we'll not have a 'denied application' on record with the Tribunal.
