(no subject)
I do not like the mid-West. Tornadoes, bad thunderstorms, flooding and hot weather. Plus Things have been rather boring lately.
It's been in the 90s for the last week or so. Finally starting to 'cool off' I guess; tomorrow's high is 80. It apparently storms a lot here during the summer. It seems like every day for the last week or so has been a thunderstorm. I'm not fond of thunderstorms, but they don't scare me nearly as much as TORNADO WARNINGS... Friday night we were preparing for a busy night of work, since it had been busy all afternoon. We hit the 10:00 set and *bawoop* tornado warning... spotted twenty miles or so from Bowling Green. The power went out at the theater for about four seconds, just long enough to stop all the movies about ten minutes before they were going to end. When the power came back on, the stupid mall's fire alarms went off because they're still not working right. There wasn't a fire, just the mall's alarms are crap. They went off three times tonight, no fires, just bad alarm system.
Work's been fun. I've officially worked for Cinemark for four years as of Memorial Day. Business finally starting to pick up when the weather's not threatening to kill people. Matt's been promoted to management at T-Town, so I don't have a Christmas job anymore. :( Good for him though. :D
The A/C was not working in our apartment last week... we turned it on and even though it ran for four days the apartment stayed around 85 degrees. Janet sent our landlord an email telling him we were melting, lol, so a pair of maintenance guys came to fix it this morning around 9. Now it's almost too cold! ^_^
I've been sewing a lot lately. Not much else to do really since some of my friends are out of town and others are... MIA? I don't really know what's going on and I'm really trying not to care so much. Will was supposed to be back sometime this week, but something is wrong with his car, so I'm not sure when he's coming back now. Hopefully soon, I'm bored.
Matthew's coming to visit in a week! Also he bought a webcam so we can actually 'see' each other more than once a month. It's nice. This means I'm on Skype finally (amanda.steadman), though I have it set to only allow people on my contacts list to message me, in order to prevent the random porn.
