Bonjour! Je suis en Paris, a la aeroport. Our trip on the Eurostar was smooth and quick. Strangely, the train is slow in England and then really fast when you cross into France. I suppose France doesn't speed limits for trains? I'm still impressed with the European transportation systems, efficient and well-organized. The food was expensive though. Our hotel on the other hand, was pretty awful. We had to wait forever for the elevator and the blankets may not have been clean and definitely were holey. We did get to stay with Alexis again instead of the grouchy girls from Colorado.
I enjoyed our evening tour of Paris. We took the Métro from our hotel in Montmatre into Paris where we walked to the banks of the Seine River. We took a cruise on the river. It had been raining on our way to the Métro and off and on during the evening it was cold and wet. My pretty umbrella has a hole in it, but I still didn't get wet, except when we sat on the cruise because the seats were wet from the rain. The views from the cruise were lovely, though I couldn't hear what the announcer was saying half the time.
