...I'm so clever with my post titles, aren't I?
I guess it's pretty obvious nobody things my stashing habit is interesting, since that yarn post has been up forever. So I guess it's time to update with some other stuff.
Work at Curves is going pretty well...we've been participating in this scientific study of short-term effects of regular exercise on sedentary people, so we have a LOT of new people coming into the club. This means Alli is running her little hiney off, instructing people how to use the machines, filling out stupid amounts of paperwork, and, currently, taking over managerial duties because the manager is due to leave for maternity leave any moment now. We've also got two new people working with us, and the owner is expecting me to train them in between helping all the customers, which is NOT going quite as well as I'd hoped. The first one I've been working with has got the hang of the basic structure, and if I can just keep her on the floor while I handle paperwork and junk, that will probably be okay. The second one starts the week after I get back from Oregon.
Memorial Day weekend started out nicely. Mike and I spent some quality time together, then after a Saturday concert at a local carnival, we headed out to Manassas to hang out with our friends. It was a good trip...we spent it hot-tubbing, game-playing, eating at Cracker Barrel, and playing "Will it Fry?" with the Padgetts' deep fryer.
Sunday afternoon, we headed back to Fairfax, and that night I got food poisoning at a new Indian restaurant. Yeah. Not going back there. Aside from a Memorial Day service I had to play Monday morning, I didn't leave the house all day. I ended up going in late to work on Tuesday.
I'm VERY much looking forward to my trip to Portland next weekend. It means a lot of details about the wedding will get settled, and it'll mean a lot less for me to worry about. Not to mention seeing my family, my dog, and some friends I miss terribly. Taylor and Kristi have both talked about trying to come down to visit, which I would REALLY like. I miss them all a whole LOT.
Bee is visiting us currently...he's thinking about staying in Virginia for the summer, which would be cool, especially because he's not planning to stay on our couch. Not that I don't love him, just that it would be better for him to have an actual room. Some of his friends have volunteered their guest rooms. I'm sitting in my guest room, which is full of a marimba and computer and lots of yarn.
