Rob, you need to calm down. I heard the same stuff you did. But getting upset isn't going to help anything. People have already broken the rules thinking it was going to help, and as Matt said, what's done is done. We're going to have to live with it, and we'll just have to see what happens. Honestly, I have no idea as to who would email her. I don't think anyone knows exaclty who it was. But think about it this way - someone told Mr. Southard, thinking it was best. They were trying to protect him, probably knowing that he would want to tell us himself, considering he is our teacher, and for most of us, we consider him more of a friend. Mr. Southard told us, thinking it was best. Everyone was trying to protect everyone, and unfortunately some people didn't listen to what we were told. We can't change that now, but we're going to have to wait and see what happens before anyone does anything else. Dr. A's mad because "contracts are supposed to be confidential, and he never should've found out in the first place". Look at it this way - she messed up. Now she's going to have to deal with that because she's going to have a lot of angry students and faculty to deal with. She can be angry all she wants to be, but she's the one that messed up because if she lets him go, she'll not only be losing two professors, two professors who cover between them eleven classes and numerous other activities, but she's losing one of the best things the instrumental program has, and she might lose instrumental majors because of it. This is her game that she's playing, and the if the students end up losing, we won't lose for long, because she will lose in the long run. People won't put up with this bull from her. She's picked quite a time to pull this, too, because she's going on sabbatical for until the winter semester starting sometime this summer. What's she going to do if she lets them go? She's going to have to find new professors to cover their positions, spending more money and then she's going to leave to avoid all the hell she'll get from everyone who knows Mr. Southard and knows Sarah and know what they've done to make the instrumental program what it is today. Besides, you said it yourself, if it goes to the Chancellor, Chancellor Mestas loves Mr. Southard. But if it doesn't, and she does decide to hire him back, there's no telling whether Mr. Southard's going to want to come back after dealing with what he's dealt with. I'm angry about what those people did, too - they definitely didn't help. But right now the ball is in Dr. A's court, and we're going to have to wait and see who gets to make the next move. We could be making a huge deal out of nothing, and Mr. Southard might not have anything to worry about and he might come back and everything will be back to normal. But no matter what, the man deserves our support. The bottom line is that's what whoever the people who emailed Dr. A too early were doing - they were supporting Mr. Southard, even though they should've waited. He deserves our support no matter what, and the rest of us should respect his wishes and wait until we have confirmation from him before we do anything. So calm down, getting upset like that isn't going to help. The wait sucks, but the meeting is tomorrow, and we'll find out soon enough what's going on.
