What You Think In Your Head Isn't Life
So I walked in the U Mart just now and saw a girl with her face burnt off. 700,000 pieces of brown, sand, purple, and pink gum was stretched across her face in tiny ribbons. She looked like Ruthie from Real World, Hawaii. She didn't scare me or startle me. I expected her to be there. I just looked at her and smiled like I would with anyone else. She fit in. I hope my gestures gave her the feeling, even for those few seconds, of normality.
