Welcome to my headcanon. Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you.
Most fanon has decided that Sherlock's mantle skull is Victor Trevor. So, how did he die? Victor was a drug addled, abusive boyfriend to Sherlock when they were in school together. Mycroft had him "disposed of."
Twelve years, later, a still 19-year-old Victor returns. He has loved Sherlock from another plane of space the whole time, but was unable to speak to or touch him. Sherlock, still very much in love with him as well, welcomes him back with open arms and defies Mycroft's wishes.
As we expected, Victor begins to mistreat Sherlock again. But, this time, Sherlock is no longer a codependent teenager who can be treated like garbage. Their relationship is rocky at best, but somehow they keep getting drawn to one another.
And my Victor is played by Nicholas Hoult. All clips are from Skins.
Sherlock is played by Benedict, naturally. All clips are from The Last Enemy and Sherlock.
Any cool effects are likely a happy accident. The angst is serious bidness. No, no. It's all for fun. I hope it isn't too over the top. :)
