My master's at fangirling

Mar 11, 2008 10:15

Guess what! I am making a presentation in my psychology class about the Arab and Japanese ideas on masculinity. Of course Japan is my favourite part. And after reading some stuff I have more thoughts on what fangirls like. (I will have a master on fangirls probably.)

After reading a long text on SMAP I was like shocked to find out that even ( Read more... )

sorry i read your comment, but i TOTALLY AGREE WITH WHAT YOU SAY XD

I LOVE SMAP.and i know for a fact nakai can't sing. but he can rap, and dance and he's really good at talking/hosting. but i do think that the rest have nice voices, and their some of their songs are really nice! and i do agree that each of their solo activities bring in more people to smap. overall, i think the dynamics of the group is wonderful, they complement each other well. and it isn't easy for them to still stay as popular when the younger groups like kat-tun/news/kanjani8 are on the rise. and yea, not all of smap's are pretty boys XD but who cares? i really like them still (:

Hehe! Of course they have talents! Probably the one who wrote the essay is not a big fan of them... I just mentioned what I read.
Read the comment I left to rinadiputri!

Kinki kids do not have loyal fans? Why?

maybe they have, but maybe they don't. i mean.. i didn't see the locality like SMAP fans to them. maybe need some time to prove it, since Kinki age is not longer than SMAP

Nice comment! Actually, yes. Their songs I have listened to are rather good. It is an aspect not mentioned in the essay. The author just describes their music as idealistic, innocent and romantic. I found that very positive and I will mention it. Actually, I am thinking of integrating your comment in my essay. But I don't know how to cite the source!!!
I also agree that appearence is not that essencial after all. Arashi are not considered pretty but they have certainly won the audience with their joyfull atmosphere.
And yes, I guess marketing techniques are similar in all Johnny's. and what you mention about kohais singing older songs, in the essay it is mentioned as "intertextuality". Personally, I don't see it just a marketing technique though, but as a creation of a tradition as well. It's kind of nice.

Hi~ I actually found you on the Explore LJ page, just thought I'd drop my two cents in - you could probably get away with citing it as a personal interview...?

i thought u will curse me cause my very long comment :p
how to cite my quote? just do it and direct it into ur lj address *devil mode* when i do my paper long time ago (yes, yes im over it :p), when it comes from anyone in site, i'll cite it as, "marilena comment in marilena-r.livejournal.com/88964.html" and my prof not objection bout it, as long u put the right site on it and it was there.
yeah, thats not also the marketing strategy, but somehow u will see its their way to make their artist keep acknowledgeable in each era. make it simple, do u know higashiyama noriyuki or matchy song before? but when they kohei sang it again and mention who song it is, then we will know (even we aren't into that song, but at least we hear their name)
ano ne.. Arashi.. ano... ah well u are right bout the joyfull and happiness atmosphere they bring and then i found it in News again

You used comments from my journal in an assay or this is just an example? o.O
Yes, of course I learned of the older artists through the new! This is how a legend is created!!! And that's why I also see it as "tradition", although the word might not be proper...
