I've seen many anime episodes those days: Wallflower (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge), Deathnote, Naruto, Chobits.
Wallflower was nice but they failed to recreate the darkish atmosphere of the manga. (In some parts) Deathnote is excellent. It is in the exact spirit of the manga, with very nice design (well, they have the Great Takeshi Obata to lead the way) and better than the movie. Naruto was really entertaining. I saw 6 episodes in a raw. Fascinating characters. All of them! (Does anybody know the artist and the title of the opening song?) Chobits was cute and the scenario sounds very interesting. If only it wasn't so girl-obsessed...
No, actually a girl that watches Wallflower and has watched all the episodes of Princess-Princess shouldn't be talking about that!!! And there are some truly inspiring female characters in mangas, like Tsukushi Makino (Hana Yori Dango), Sumire Iwaya (Kimi wa Pet), Sunako Nakahara (Wallflower - yeah, I think she is inspiring in her weirdness), Winry Rockbell (FMA, for me the best example of the independant girl) and even Jiyae from Model.
I could establish my anime top 5 as follows:
1. Wolf's Rain
2. Deathnote
3. Naruto
4. Wallflower
5. Fruits Basket
FMA is a sad case of disappointment and even Fruits Basket should have a second season because it is painfully incomplete. Ah, I also want to see Air Gear but I've heard it sucks graphically.
