Uracil and xanthine, two of the known nucleobases, which are precursors to the molecules that make up DNA and RNA, have been found in meteorite fragments in Australia. The hypothesis is that early life in Earth may have adopted those nucleobasis and used them. Moreover such material scattered all around the universe augments the chances of live existing elsewhere.
