My holiday wishlist!

Nov 23, 2010 11:59

I saw this on many friends' LJs so I will play this too...

Step One

* Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

* Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes/wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

So here are my wishes...
  • My biggest wish is just that you truly and deeply wish me good luck in getting the flat we love. Good energy, good luck rituals, amulets or just good thoughts... anything will make me super happy.
  • Something cute to decorate my new flat (as so many people will wish us good luck, I'm bound to get it, hehehe!). It can be something tiny, a small figurine, a wall decal, a nice artistic photo... anything really!
  • Anything from my Etsy favourites. Or similar to it. If it's there, I love it!
  • Anything that is handmade by you. I treasure unique things that are handmade.
  • Anything with owls. My totem animal. I adore them!
  • Make a small donation or some volunteer work for your closest animal shelter.
  • Make a Random Act of Kindness for someone. Anyone. Make someone smile and then tell me about it.
  • Do you have tiny rings that you can't wear? Both my mum and me have tiny fingers, we both love rings, and we can't find small rings so we would love to give them a home.
  • Postcards for my mum.
  • Second hand books. About anything really. I love reading and even if you send me one that is not my style, I teach English and pass them on to my older students who can't find books in English in this area.
So that's all really. Thanks for looking at my list and now I'm off to check other lists. Spread the smiles!
