My name is Kamakari Kenta. Kenken, if you want to call me with a nick and welcome to Aoyama Gakuin. It is not unusual that crowds of people turn their faces and smile at me as I walk by. After all, I have many different friends here in Aoyama Gakuin. I am a power forward in the basketball team. I am in the top 20 of the most popular kids in school, I am even above some of the Blue Lightning guys . I mean, really, I can’t help it if people are drawn to me. I’m just too cute! In fact, I am 2nd to my best friend, Chiba Yuudai in the ranking for Cutest Guy in school which makes it kind of difficult to go outside when the fangirls are out. I mean they could be a little overzealous.
Being a Communication Major, it is probably good for me to have a great network like this. Besides, having many friends is fun - I get to see every event at school, get to be invited at every major party at school, get free tickets to concerts, and eat free most of the time. I have a steady stream of people calling me, inviting me out to dinner and I never do run out of dates. Plus, being in the in-crowd of most of the social groups in school make me the go-to person if you want to know anything in school. I could help you make friends with just about anyone. I know people from the Academic Circle to the Sports Teams down to the Geeks at the Electronics and Robotics Clubs. I’m even in the elbow room of the Drama club and the school band - and that’s not boasting it’s simply the truth.
Who are my best friends? Hmm… well there’s Yuudai who shares my life in hiding because we’re simply too cute. Then, I also have friends who I love in the Blue Lightnings Soccer team. Let’s see… the usual crowd would be Me, Yuudai, Ayukawa Taiyou ( the tall 2nd Goalie of Blue Lightnings), Ryu Nishikido (Boss Ryo’s brother and who is totally and utterly in love with my sisterette, Aya Oomosa), Hamao Kyousuke (who is the 4th in the ranking for cutest person in school) and Hikaru Yaotome, who oddly doesn’t turn up in most of the gang pics. When I’m not hanging with them, I cause mischief with the older members like Shirota Yuu and Hayami Mokomichi (who I swear will never graduate from Aoyama and deserves a loyalty award) also their friend Mizushima Hiro (who, to tell you the truth, I don’t know if he’s a masochist or was hired by Coach Gussan to keep those two bullies in line).
I also hang out with some of the big names in campus. I am on first name basis with our Student Body President Yamashita Tomohisa who also owns No Border Cafe down University Road. He is dating Keiko Kitagawa of the Law Department. She’s cute, straight forward and a perfect complement to his silent demeanor. It’s actually funny that our Yamapi whose word everyone honors in school folds and bows like a knave at the word of his lady fair. Maybe it’s true that behind every great man is a woman or in his situation - women. Because aside from Keiko, he has four beautiful cousins who stands behind him at all times.
His four cousins, the lovely Namikaze Sisters are like my own sisters as well. The eldest, Former Princess of Aoyama, Maia Namikaze is one of the most fashionable ladies in school. Why former? She used to date the King of Aoyama- Daigo who recently graduated and broke up with her. Well, I guess 6 months is not so recent, but they used to rule the school together. They were quite fabulous, that pair but Maia also has her secrets. My eyes doesn’t decieve me when I say that she and Taiyou’s brother were a pretty hot item. In fact, they might still like each other however, they must have their reasons for not being together. Now she’s dating Nishikido Ryo, my idol. He’s a cool guy who is working hard for his family. I mean even if he’s dirt poor, he’s got his pride and I say that he’s good influence to the Princess who is definitely nicer now that she’s with him. Hmmm, but given a choice between the three? Daigo, Ryo and Junno? I would probably say that Maia settled for second best - she should be with Junno. Even if he’s a little odd.
But speaking about her, I couldn’t help but think that there is something weird going on with those three. I heard from the grapevine and from Ryu himself that Daigo returned without much of a fight, all the money and the land title to the Nishikido Farm. It’s unusual really and really crazy. I mean who in their right mind nowadays would give back a 20 hectare fertile and profitable land without so much of a question, right? I say there are other powers at work. I may investigate that.
Then there’s Sarah. She’s my age. She’s probably the coolest girl in the planet. She’s a nursing intern at Aoyama Gakuin Medical Center. She’s also a really good singer - she sings with the Boarders, the house band at her cousin’s bar. She’s got a real Rock soul and she’s really smart. She’s a good writer and I think that casting aside the tough girl act, she’s really pretty. She’s got good genes after all. She’s dating the photographer / Law student Shige Kato. He’s someone I really haven’t talked to much. Maybe because I would probably feel inferior next to him. I don’t know. Though, I do wonder what a cool girl like her could do hanging around someone like Tadayoshi Ohkura. She’s too good for someone like him. But of course, that’s not for me to say. I mean after all, I am just an acquaintance.
Though I do hear that her sharp opinions, do cause something like friction between the first and her. I guess she’s at her rebellious stage. You know we all go through that. I mean, I had a ROCK Phase in my life too… not to mention a phase when I thought I was a girl, but let’s not talk about that right now.
The third sister, Resha is probably someone I should be close to. I don’t know she seems caring enough. Clingy actually. And she’s got bad taste in men. You see, her boyfriend right now is Meiji’s Student Body President, Koyama Keiichiro. She seems to forget that her cousin is our school’s Student Body President and that is a bad omen. Aside from that, that guy is just suspicious. Not that I don’t like Meiji, I have a few friends there, but this guy, I don’t like the look or the feel of him. Something must be brewing. He must be using Resha for something and I do hope that she wakes up from it.
Then, there is Capt. Jin Psychonishi - is that a real name? NO, his name is Akanishi but the bastard is a psycho when they come to practice and games. I mean, at least we do have a good chance of winning the cup again this year. Apparently the psycho likes, Resha and is just a coward to step forward. She’s approachable enough - but I think it’s pride. What do you think?
Finally, there’s the last sister who is simply the most adorable one. Innocent little Idda is everyone’s baby. One look at her dollish face and you’d want to feed her candy and cute things forever. But Idda is beyond that, she’s sporty and quite good at soccer. ( I think she’s better than me). She’s quirky and fun too. But I do think that she’s uninterested in romance - well aside from the Future Captain of the Lightnings. Yabu Kouta. They make a real good couple, but he’s not the only one who has the hots for her. I wouldn’t blame them, since she’s a cutie.
So, you’re really with semi-royalty here. I never lose company when I need it. But it is kind of hard to be alone. With this much friends, you could probably say that I will never be lonely. But you know what, it’s quite the opposite. In a crowd of people who seem to like me, I still feel so alone. In fact, you could say that I feel lost in that same crowd I revel in. Why? You must ask. Maybe because, it’s all superficial - I mean, I am still looking for that one person who will make me feel alive again - because right now, I am still so dead. I died when everyone who meant anything to me died.
