He stared at their backs for a long time. Clenched fists declaring his disapproval for their actions. There was no way he'd accept this. Not now, when he was ready and willing to fight. He glared at them before he closed his eyes and shouted out.
"WHO AM I? I AM LAMBO! I am NOT A CHILD ANYMORE. I am Sixteen years old, and have experienced as much trials as you have. I will not be left behind anymore," he declared as he picked up his coat and ran after them.
"Lambo..." Tsunayoshi Sawada, the Vongola Tenth, stared at him sadly. "Lambo, what we are facing is not one of your games. This is the real deal."
"And Byakuran was not?" Lambo shot back. "I know what I went through and what I am doing. If you're not taking me, I'll go on my own. Without. you."
"Just don't get in our way, Stupid cow," Gokudera glared. "Just follow orders, your orders were to protect this base. You're not being left behind, idiot. You're being given an order that's most important."
Tsuna looked at Gokudera and nodded. "That's right. You're here to protect all that we love. Who knows where the enemy would turn up. We know you've done a wonderful job as Lightning Guardian. This time, please prove it."
"I don't want to believe in any of your excuses," Lambo Bovino stared at them. "If you think that you can make a fool of me, then you're mistaken. I know that this is not part of your strategy. I know that you wanted to leave me behind. I know you think I'll just be a burden or that I'm too young."
"Lambo, please..." Tsuna started out. It was his intention to leave Lambo Bovino behind. He's just 16, a child. He doesn't need to get any more involved in this mess.
"You forget, Vongola Decimo," Hibari Kyouya's smooth and cool voice interjected into their conversation. "That you started fighthing before that age. I believe that the lightning Guardian is right. He is not a child anymore."
Lambo looked up surprised. He was the last person who he thought would support him. He looked over gratefully at him.
"It also means that he's responsible for his own actions now," Hibari said with a cold stare at the lightning Guardian."That means, he's responsible for his own life."
"That's cruel!" Sawada Tsunayoshi said and turned to Lambo. "Just understand, Lambo. You shouldn't go. I have my reasons. I just don't want you to..."
"... to experience the same hurt that you have back then?" Lambo said between gritted teeth. "I have experienced worse. I was thrown into a battle for my life when I was five. What more do you expect of me? I am ready. I know what I'm fighting for. I can fight. If you leave me, I'll just follow you at my own risk. Why can I-pin go and I can't anyway? Why do you all treat me like I'm still five? If you didn't realize, I am already sixteen. I know what I'm doing. I want to fight for our family."
"Go, if you have to," Gokudera nodded. "Juudaime, this is not only our fight. Lambo has something to fight for as well. He's part of this family, no matter how much we deny it. And he has grown up."
"... Gokudera,” Lambo looked over to the silver haired man.
“Then, come with us, Guardian of the Lightning,” Vongola Decimo finally conceded. “Welcome to the end of your childhood. Welcome to the world of being an adult.”
