Insecure. That’s what Shishido Ryo is. Now that he has found Choutaro, he has mixed feelings about it. First, he was happy to see him all well and successful. Second he was jealous and envious of the success and wished he was living like that instead of the hellhole he was in. Third, he was feeling insecure because he was supposed to be the senpai here, yet he was being taken cared of instead of the other way around. He sighed and lifted another glass of whiskey to his lips and emptied it instantly. At least, when he’s drunk - he’s happier. He doesn’t think of Choutaro too much and he just falls asleep. Being drunk is a the happy place - especially when you live in a ghetto where your next door neighbor might kill you any minute for change.
Choutaro looked around. He couldn’t believe that his Shishido-senpai should live here. He just wanted to visit him, because his senpai had neither called nor visited in the last weeks, even if he had promised him. So he just found out where he lived to see if he was all right. Slowly, carefully he climbed the stares to the fifth floor, where Shishido’s apartment was. Almost as carefully he knocked at the door. He just hoped that Shishido was home and he didn’t have to wait here for long. It was scary and dangerous for sure.
Damn, that better not be the landlady. His check won’t arrive til next week. “What the fuck is it?” He growled in drunken stupor as he approached the door. The inside of his apartment was quite clean aside from the countless bottles lining up the walls. He opened the door and found himself a surprise. “CHOUTARO! Come in! Its dangerous out there and where did you park? did you have your alarm on?” he asked in a rush.
“Shishido-senpai are you all right? I was worried because you didn’t call. And I have parked a bit away”, Choutaro said and let himself been pulled in. Surprised he looked around. This many bottles... Then he looked at Shishido who had strange watery eyes. “Shishido-san...... are you drunk?”, he asked startled.
“Me? NO! This is quite normal, wanna drink?” He offered another full shot of whiskey to him before he drowned in it again. There he was the object of his envy and ideals looking out of place in his perfect clothes in this dirty house. “I’m sorry I didn’t call, you see, I don’t have a cellphone.” He was dirt poor.
“Normal? Shishido-san this isn’t normal!”; he said angry and refused the drink. “How long does that go already?”, he asked furious. To thing that his Shishido-senpai, the person he had looked up to the most sat here in this.... dump and got drunk continuously.... he couldn’t believe it.
“Without this, I would have died a long time ago,” Shishido hiccuped. “You see, Choutaro. When you live in the ghetto - you have to forget you’re in the ghetto, but the Ghetto is loud, noisy, scary, annoying, stinky and dangerous. You can’t ignore it. So you just make yourself ignore it...” he started babbling his drunken babble. Normally, Shishido won’t babble.”Why is baby Choutaro mad? I’m fine!”
Choutaro stared at Shishido disbelieving. “You want to know why baby Choutaro is mad? You really want to know why Baby Choutaro IS MAD?!”, he asked grabbed one of the -full- bottles near him and just dashed it against the next wall. “I tell you why! Because I just found out that the man I had admired most rather kills himself than talking with me! You could have said something Dammit! I would have found a way to help you! I thought we were friends who can depend on each other! But you trust this damn swill more than ME!”, With this another bottle smashed against a wall. Choutaro was angry, he was furious. At Shishido, but also at himself. How could he have let such a thing happen?
Well that woke Shishido up, he stared at Choutaro who stood there smashing bottles behind him in a dangerous rage of fury. This sobered him up immediately. How could he have let Choutaro see him in that state? But he knew he couldn’t say anything, but he was furious. How could Choutaro ever understand his situation. “Well, you want to know why I haven’t called? Look around you, Choutaro. This is me. This is where I lived. This is me, trying to forget that I exist in such a sorry state. This is me right now. While you live in a nice loft, I live in this garbage. While you play the violin and enjoy yourself, I work the back bar of a nasty club full of people who discriminate me and call me names and hit me. There are many times, I would have killed them if I didn’t need the job. You want to know the truth? This is it. Plain and simple. “
Choutaro stared at Shishido furiously. “Do you really think that matters for me? You could live with me! You could work at the School or at the opera somewhere. I would have found you a good job. This difference doesn’t matter for me Shishido-senpai!”, he yelled and suddenly pulled Shishido into a tight hug. “Please... I don’t want you to end like this. Not you! You’re too special!”
He got pulled in Choutaro’s strong arms and all of Shishido’s defenses lowered. “I had no choice,” Shishido said in a small voice. “You were too great for me. I couldn’t compare to you. I’ll just bring you down. I came here to find you. I found you alright, you were well out of my reach.” He said.
“I’ll never be out of your reach Shishido-san. And if you bring me down, then I have to become stronger to carry us both. You’re the most important person to me and I just can’t let you down.” He finally calmed down again but now began to cry. He didn’t wanted to lose Shishido because of something like this. He didn’t want Shishido to perhaps die in a place like this.
This time, Shishido reached out and pulled the taller man into a hug. “I’m sorry,” he said feeling guilty that he had reduced Choutaro to tears. He, who swore that no one would hurt Choutaro has succeeded in making him cry. It made him feel horrible. God, he was not only a loser- but he was a stupid loser.
Desperate he lay his arms around Shishido and cries at his shoulder. “Please... don’t leave me”, he murmured as he finally calmed down again. “I don’t want you to live here anymore. I help you. You have to do something about it, please Shishido-san”, he said and lay his hands on Shishido’s Shoulder to look him deep in the eyes.
One look was all it took for Shishido to crumble down in a heap of tears. There was nothing worse than this. Dying was probably better. The humiliation, the broken image in front of Choutaro was more than enough for him to go crazy. “Get away from me!” he said. “I’m a filthy drunk. You’ll just get ruined with me. Go back where you came from and leave me alone.”
Shocked he stared at his senpai and stumbled some steps back. “What... You’re not filthy and I won’t get ruined Shishido-san! I want to help you, please, I want you to stay with me”, he said desperate, didn’t want to leave his senpai here. Not now that he know how bad this place was for his Shishido-san.
“What part of LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE don’t you understand?” Shishido growled and stumbled towards the door to open it. “I’m serious. Leave. Don’t come back. I’m not your SHISHIDO SENPAI anymore.” It hurt like hell. But, it was the only thing he could do right now. He couldn’t help it. If it stays this way, either he’ll go absolutely crazy or he’ll die.
He couldn’t believe it. Shishido kicked him out. He had never imagined something like that could actually happen. It hurt. It hurt like hell. “Do....you hate me so much?”, he asked but shook his head. he didn’t want to know, he really didn’t want to. He wanted Shishido-san to get away from this place. He hated this place, he hated this town that made Shishido like this. “You know... I really thought that we would stay together forever...like... Soulmates”, he said, coldly while he walked over to Shishido, “I really thought we were meant for each other...” With that he gave him a punch right in the midriff. “I don’t want you to die... I won’t allow it” he whispered in Shishido’s ear.
“OOF!” Shishido felt it. ONE PUNCH WITH ALL HIS HEART. “Your arm is as strong as ever.” He said before he totally blacked out. That arm of his is dangerous.
“Thank you Shishido-san”, he murmured as he caught him. He aspirated a small kiss on his hair before he lay him down and turned around. He would make sure that Shishido could never get back to this place. Every bottle of alcohol was spilled on the ground and after he took everything that was important he took a lighter that lay on the table and set the room on fire. Quickly he left the room and the building. Even if there would be people get hurt or would die. It didn’t matter for him right now, he even thought of anything beside the body in his arms and that he didn’t want him to get back there ever again. Now Shishido had to stay with him no matter what.
Shishido felt heat and heard screams but he didnt have the strength to struggle. His final view of the hell he was in was of the place burning down. ‘It’s hell, alright.’ he thought as he drifted off to a dizzy sleep. He didn’t have to know that it was Choutaro who did it. He didn’t know anything at all.
His mind was blank while he drove them both to his apartment. He didn’t regret what he had done but he also wasn’t really happy about it either. He had hurt Shishido. Something he never wanted to do, but he did it. What should he do now? He didn’t know. So he just decided to put Shishido in his bed, he wouldn’t allow him to leave, he didn’t want him to leave, ever, ever again. “You’re mine Shishido-san..... just mine”, he murmured as he gently ran his fingers over Shishido’s forehead.
