So much stress ... so little time

Nov 28, 2007 23:07

I can't sleep. It's after 23.00, Boy's at my in-law's & Hubbie's working until late tomorrow morn. I should be dead asleep. Especially after the last three weeks. But I can't escape the thoughts tumbling in my head. Writing usually helps sort it all out but I can't find my journal. Boy must've been rearranging the books again. So fine . . . ( Read more... )

"Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"

The wife's best friend's younger brother didn't start talking until he was four. Of course, that was because his parents were with him for the first time with OUT his older sister. If kids don't have to communicate verbally to get their point across, they usually won't. Boys also tend to go about it much differently than girls, and EVERY ONE of the little booger filled runts develop at their own pace.

I'd hold out hope: the "specialists" always over diagnose to justify their existence and to cover their asses from not seeing a bigger a problem. The therapy can't really hurt him (they don't use car jumper cables anymore right?), though will be a major PITA for your life. But you'll do it. Why? 'cause you're a good parent, which means you know the kid comes first. I've seen you do it before and know you'll do it again. And later, you'll be proud of the job you did. You'll also be an alcoholic, but that's parenting for ya'.

As to the new season: could it be just possible that you're finding the time requirements beginning to take a toll? A lot of us have found that between jobs, homes, multiple familial obligations and THEN a kid, that there REALLY is a reason that fairs are done by the young and childless.
I know you love it. I don't really know why, but I know what it is like to really enjoy doing it. And I also know that other responsibilities wearing you down while you try and do THAT particular pass-time can and has made people, AND THOSE AROUND THEM, completely miserable and unhappy. Just sayin', ya know? It may be time to cut a few corners at least, if not full pages.
Of course, I also realize that part of your will to press on is for Dawn. And that is sweet too. But I do not think Dawn would want you burning out and braining a volunteer with a 2x4 because he didn't follow instructions for the umpteenth time. Well... alright, she probably wouldn't mind, but she would feel sorry about you going to jail and getting sued.

The holidays are coming up. You have several GOOD reasons to take a little time for yourself and decide what is important and what you can reasonably do and still make it outside a sanitarium for the next 16 years minimum.
Give us a call for a play date w/ the kids. Have the hubby bring him and then you and the wife can maybe go see a movie. Maybe the boy can teach the captain how to JUST KEEP QUIET FOR FIVE MINUTES PLEASE!!!
