Well, it's good to know that when hospice comes over, they don't pop in the door announcing "Hey there, we're the nurses from hospice and we've replaced your regular visiting nurse because you're dying!"
I actually asked the hospice caseworker that today when we were signing the paperwork for my grandmother. She has moments where she's lucid, and I don't want that to terrify her. I'm scared enough that she'll have a lucid moment and realize that we followed her living will instructions and that she doesn't have a feeding tube. And that she'll think we've given up on her. Because I can't imagine many things more awful than that.
