Unexpected madness... so I'm sorry for any unintentional harm caused.

I accidentally created a bit of a furore over on getithere. It was completely unintentional and in no way meant as a mean-spirited request. I just can't help it if occasionally I enjoy a badly written or cliched work of fiction. I find the writing escapist, the writers passionate and fun loving, as well as inventive and different, and there's a lot less of the seriousness that you find with writers that take weeks and months getting every single word and letter in exactly the right place.
Whilst this makes for a beautifully written and well thought out fiction, sometimes the suddenness of the changes and the fun-loving, obviously fic loving manner in which some of these fics are written are, to put it mildly, marvellous.
I wasn't just requesting crack fic, I freely admit to having requested some badly written or badly plotted fics, but I never did so in a way that I thought would offend anyone. I truly believe that some of these fics have genuine merit, but a lot of people over on the community may be afraid of reccing them, perhaps for fear of censure over their own tastes from more 'discerning' readers.
I did say I liked to have a 'giggle' over the mistakes, but just in the same way that I like to find the 'goofs' in films, or the lack of consitency in television soap operas. I enjoy the madness. I can't apologise for that, because I don't see anything wrong with it, providing that I only ever provide constructive or positive criticism to the writers themselves. Some fantastic writers today have some of what I would consider classically badly written fics in their earlier repertoirs, this doesn't detract from their skills today. I am always particularly sad when a good writer deletes what they feel to be 'inferior' work from their earlier days. It's all fic, and enjoyed by many, on several different levels.
