For the sake of Posterity:
My approach to this Stanley Cup Finals.
I lived in Massachusetts for 11 years. I lived in British Columbia for 2.
Bigger number is bigger, and has more heartstrings attached. It will not break my heart in any way, shape, or form if the Canucks win the Cup. They're a >40 year old franchise, and they've never won it. They're carrying a ridiculous amount of pressure from their city, and I honestly do love them in spite of a fairly large portion of their fanbase.
However, I'll be wearing my Black & Gold at Game 4. And I'll be screaming accordingly. Because I remember the last time the Bruins made it to the finals. I lived in Massachusetts the last time the Bruins made it to the finals (and for a few years after). And just, yeah. Some things you can't shake off. Some things you don't want to.
ION, the_olde_firm arrived at 12:30 last night (and got picked up at the airport at 2, because work scheduled a late game at ridic o'clock). He's here for two weeks, and we're going up to Boston for Game 4 (WHEE!) and probably meeting hockeysaurus for brunch and NOT SLEEPING AGAIN.
