Говорите ли вы русский?

Since I'm going to be spending close to 2 weeks in Russia in August, I signed up for a Russian Language Class through the local Russian Cultural Centre. It runs M & W 7-9PM.

The people I socially skate with meet on Wednesdays from 7:30-Whenever. This is generally one of the few times I regularly get out of the house and act like a grown-up.

Giving up the skating was a no-brainer decision, initially. Except then the first day of class overlapped with Independence day, which meant pushing the class-schedule back(1). What it all boils down to is that, among other things, I'll be paying for 6 weeks of classes and getting 7-of-12 sessions due to scheduling overlaps.

Now I'm torn. I've got 3 weeks of cram-class left. Once that's done, I could dedicate a solid couple of weeks to sitting down and working my way through an intro to Russian book (especially in the age of PodCasts and Youtube), and it would cost me about $200 less. Also, I could be social and not fall of the face of the planet WRT my friends @ Kettler. Or I can be responsible and go to the class even though I'm only going to be able to attend half of it.

Thoughts? Anyone? *Flails around*(2)
Footnotes:
1. Oh, and I found out that the book-deposit for the library is in *addition* to the stated course cost, as opposed to included.

2. I fully acknowledge that I've been flailing around more than normal, these last few weeks. Also that I've been markedly AFK. School has killed my brain, and then the SCF happened and my brain literally stopped functioning for about 4 days. Lack of sleep has never been a good look on me, even if it's only moderate deprivation levels ATM.
