My little weeds

I measured Dominic yesterday, and to my surprize he grew an entire inch in just over one month. To put this in perspective, it took him ten months to grow his last two inches. This helps to explain two things: one, why the vest I made to his measurements (taken in February) turned out so small that I have to make another one; and two, why his sleeping regressed into chaotic mayhem earlier in March. It was so bad that I was about to take him to the sleep specialist, but did some more research online and found that with cases like his, the more exhausted he is the worse he gets. Dominic was so bad he was waking up with dark circles under his eyes, and acting out at about 7 o'clock in the morning. Not good. The last two weeks have been a full assault against his exhaustion, trying to get him to rest in the afternoon and setting a strict earlier bedtime for him. I also found a useful hint that kids with confusional arousals (that's the name of his parasomnia), at about potty training age can start being kicked out of sleep by the bladder feeling full. So we've been putting him on the toilet when he's acting particularly bad and it has really brought a lot of improvement.

Gregory has four teeth and is probably about to have more. He's been a pain in the butt lately, luckily he's just so darn cute that I can overlook it (mostly). I sure hope he gets his new teeth soon, because he's driving me nuts. Some of it is separation anxiety.
I do a lot of my chores with him grasping my legs for dear life and screaming. For some reason my boys get separation anxiety really bad, and it make days insanely frustrating for me. Gregory started walking at eight months, and now at nine months he can take up to ten steps on his own. I'm doing baby led weaning, and he's been eating stuff off the table for a few months, but he's really ramped up his eating as of late. Going outside is a nightmare because he is constantly sampling mother nature's smorgasbord. I think his favorite thing to eat is pine tree seed pods. He also loves to eat mulch, dirt and grass. In the picture below I really had to work to keep him away from the azeleas. I really had no desire to go the emergency room.

Overall, things are going well. Jared hasn't been on a business trip all year. For that I am truly thankful!
