Tonight's glass:
Josef Reuscher Erben 2007 Piesporter Goldtropfchen Riesling Auslese, a Pradikatswein from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer area of Germany. Sweet Rieslings are a rarity for me; I picked this one up for Thanksgiving, and find that I like it better now than I did a week ago. The acidity has loosened a bit since the original opening, integrating into a nice balance with the sweetness instead of being as overbearing as I originally thought it. Pale straw color with a slight green tint; lightly fragrant, flavors all Golden Delicious apple with a touch of baking spice on the end. 8% ABV. A good buy for $12 at Wine Knows in Grayslake.
