Go go gadget Midwinter

Midwinter was had. People liked it. People loved the food. People had fun. Merchants came and were almost entirely happy. People liked the merchants. Duchess Elina, author of The Armored Rose, came and talked and was a hoot to listen to. There was dancing, and people liked it, even though I don't think they ever did "Hole in the Wall". People loved the food. There was a giant swan cart in a processional (it was astounding!). There was a surprise Laurelling of someone quite deserving.

baronj did a fabulous job running the event, double especially as a first-time autocrat. I am intensely proud of him, even though I think he's nuts for wanting to do it again. marlburian made a wonderful, incredible feast that everyone liked something in, if not everything (and most folks liked a lot of it!). We got help from a lot of people, including on-the-spot-omg-we-need-people-now help.

Me? I wish I'd had more sleep. I wish I'd finished my dress. To all the people who put up with my tired cranky ass and supported me - thank you very much. I wish I'd been more help. I wish I'd gotten some stuff done much earlier. I wish I'd gotten to do some of the crazy ideas I had, but never did because I overcommitted and then got divorced. To the people who listened to me whining - thanks.

I know, I know I said, just yesterday "never again" but ... if there were a much much smaller event, that someone really wanted to go crazy with a theme, and it was a theme I was interested in, I might be able to be talked into helping organize some of the garb education and stuff and doing it right. Assuming I can get the rest of my life organized enough to have enough free time to do it. Not until then.

sca, event
