L'Arc~en~Ciel 30 Day Challenge - Day 30
Last day! Such a special occasion deserves a GENKI FACE! 8D
I'm both happy and sad... I have loved doing this challenge (almost xD; 'cause I lose track of time...) every day. I do hope you've enjoyed them as well, be it reading my undoubtedly eccentric/fangirly commentary, or simply watching the videos/drooling over the pictures. No matter what, I hope I've at least put a little more rainbow into your lives. Always a good thing, ne! ^^
Never fear! I'll probably end up ranting talking about L'Arc semi-daily anyway... I do hope the news will keep coming! New song, not too far away... ooh, I'm so excited~!!!
Well, here we are. Day 30. What could it be? I already know, lol.
Day 30 - Your "all-time" favorite song.

I've mentioned before, in a few previous challenges, that I've been holding off on one song for a special challenge... and that would be this one. Because I definitely have one all-time favorite, a song that means simply everything to me. And that's Link.
Here it is, at 20th L'Anni live.
I love the way Hyde ornaments the notes in this one... it's really lovely. Also Leader's bouncing in the rain! <3
All in all... I just have no words to describe my love for this song. It honestly does mean everything to me. Sometimes when I listen to it, I can get teary-eyed, and other times it makes me grin and want to laugh with overflowing joy. It's just that kind of song, you know? It plays on emotions that you have buried deep in your heart, and suddenly brings them out. I feel like Link is the sort of song that can reach out and touch anyone and everyone, for that reason.
This is also the song that really made me love L'Arc. Ready Steady Go was the first song I heard by them, but Link was what made me fall in love with them. It was my all-time favorite song from the first time I listened to it- love at first sight, in a way. ^^ Since that first time, I never stopped loving it. No other song has ever stolen its title of my Favorite Song of All Time. I mean, not only is it my favorite L'Arc song, it's honestly my favorite song of any artist. It's my #1!
The melody, the guitar line, bass line, drum line, lyrics... just everything is perfect to me. There's just something about this song that resonates perfectly with me. Particularly the lyrics, I love how it is both a love song and also has a clear anti-war sentiment about it. Simply wonderful!
