A day at Samye Ling

It has been a mad couple of weeks. Fought off an abscess and had to deal with fall out from antibiotics. My system doesn't like them much. But it helped.

On Friday I did the bus trip again to Braehead and met my husband for supper. We had a lot of fun.

On Saturday we got a distressing call from my husband's parents. His mother has problems with visitors and has decided she doesn't want us to come visit with our daughter after she arrives. This was presented badly and I took it rather personally. Also my emotional control lately is fragile at the best of times. I cried for 2 hours.

On Sunday we decided to go to Samye Ling. It was a typical Scotland fall day, rain, clearing, bucketing rain, rain, clearing...repeat

We walked around the gardens and went into the shop. I found the most wonderful soft shawl. As well as a photo of the White Tara.

We managed to get my wheelchair into the temple and sat and said our mantras for a good long while. Then we were part of the memorial service for Dr Akong. I didn't understand it, but it was beautiful to listen to and I wish him safe journey. Since he gave us refuge, it was nice to be a part of these prayers.

Being at Samye Ling reminded me that I am very small and very impermanent and that is a very good thing. That I don't need to take other people's problems personally. That I can step back and be happy anyway.

Our daughter arrives tomorrow morning early. Today I have nurse visit, housekeeper and last minute craziness to deal with.
