on my drive to my dad's i had plenty of time to think.
and time to listen to the new my chemical romance album twice through.
it got me to thinking, as i often do, if i would still listen to the bands i listen to now if i was a teenager now.
which got me on this strange comparison between My Chemical Romance and Smashing Pumpkins.
See, they both had indie first albums that got attention enough to get them a major label deal. then the second album full of monster hits and enormus popularity.
following that with an epic third album. that is full of great songs.
beyond that they are both really gothy. with strong frontmen with strange voices and eyeliner.
mtv's darlings.
that's all i got.
but i definately would still like them if i was a teenager now.
and i'm really into this song. maybe it's cause it's good, or maybe it's because he says "aunt marie" in it.
does it really matter which?
