I'm usually not a very trendy dresser, but there are two trends right now that I want to try: sheer maxi-dresses and crochet/lace. I suddenly like bohemian clothes, though I will always be madly in love with anything hot pink. Which is why I tried on a hot pink sheer maxi-dress yesterday, but of course it looked all wrong on top. Plus the trick for a lady of my stature is to find a maxi-dress that doesn't drag all over the ground. Actually, if I do end up finding one I like and can afford, I'll probably just end up asking a friend to borrow their sewing machine and hem it myself. I've hemmed things before, and while it's a little annoying it's really not that hard, and definitely not worth paying a tailor 20+ dollars for.
I think working at H&M has made me obsessed with clothes. :x Also, I'm excited for next week because I picked up extra shifts, so I'm working 35 hours! Yaaay money! Plus I'm covering for Amy in White Marsh, so I'll get to meet the manager she always tells me funny stories about.
Also, I've noticed that Bumble and bumble ads keep popping up in my sidebar. This is torture, because I'm nearly out of hair products and I can't afford Bb but I wants it. ;_; I also want some Eucalyptus Spearmint shampoo and conditioner and body wash (via Bath and Body Works). I'm just going through a phase of wanting tons and tons of "girly" things. Like nailpolish.
Aaaand I finished up my comic submission, so next up I'm going to do an illustration for me (and my portfolio). I want to do a series of illustrations of my favorite reality/documentary tv shows, and I'm thinking of calling it "This Sh*t is Real." Maybe not hahaahaa. But so far in the line-up: Fatal Attractions (that'll be the painting I'm doing first, I'm going to focus on crocodiles I think), Ancient Aliens, and THE ORIGINAL Iron Chef. Iron Chef seems to stick out since it's a competition, so maybe not, but I'm still thinking.
Then again, Fatal Attractions could be a whole series of illustrations on its own: bears, chimpanzees, wolves, snakes, crocodiles, tigers, lions, leopards... The list goes on. But I might get bored doing all that. Maybe I'll make a tiger one too since they're so fashionable and purdy, hmmmmm.
But yeah. I think it might just be watercolor. Like the pretty translucent kind, even though it's not light-fast. Maybe a combo of watercolor and acrylic. I'll experiment with this one.
